Review of Topolino’s Terrace at Disney World Resort

This month my family and I went to the new Riviera Resort at Walt Disney World to have dinner at Topolino’s Terrace. This is the new fine dining restaurant at Disney’s Riviera Resort. We made reservations ahead of time and were able to get a table for 4 on a Saturday night.

We spent some time at Disney Springs before our reservation, then we drove from there over to Riviera. You can park at the resort for free around your reservation time, just be prepared to show your proof of reservation to the parking attendant.

I thought that the Riviera Resort was very beautifully themed. While not as character-forward as many other resorts, I appreciate the modern European styling and of course the more subtle Disney touches throughout the property.

One thing that surprised me about Riviera is the tiny lobby! It is truly so much smaller compared to the size of the rest of the resort.

Up the elevators to the top floor we went!

Topolino’s Terrace features both French and Italian cuisine, boasting dishes and flavors true to the Riviera. The inspiration for the name comes from the Italian word for “baby mouse”. So cute!

We were greeted by a stunning sunset before we made our way to the host stand.

As we waited for our table, I admired the glass door fridges flanking the entrance. They were filled with all my favorite things: wine, cheese, and pasta!

You can see Spaceship Earth in Epcot from the waiting area.

After a few minutes, we were escorted to our table. But instead of a table…we were actually sat at one of the booths. The booth was extremely small and narrow, and the cushions were so stiff that my back immediately started hurting when we sat down. I’m not sure if it is the way the booths were designed or because they are so new, but it was actually so uncomfortable for all 4 of us to sit at that I asked our server if we could please be seated at a table. Thankfully they were able to accommodate us.

I stepped out on the patio to take in the view before the sun set.

The great views and cozy seating look so good for enjoying drinks and appetizers during the summer. I definitely plan on coming back for that.

I was so excited to crack open the menu!

We decided to share a bottle of chardonnay from Washington. It was oaky and absolutely delicious.

Here is the full dinner menu from Topolino’s Terrace as of January 2020.

Dinner started with crusty bread brought to the table. We ordered the gnocchi and winter pumpkin ravioli to share.

The gnocchi was creamy and rich – with the perfect al dente bite. The ravioli itself was just okay (although you can see that we did some good work on it prior to this picture being taken) but the broth was amazing. We took turns dipping bread into it long after the ravioli was gone.

I got the herb fettuccine as my entree. It contained a ton of seafood and the pasta was herb-y and delicious!

My husband got the braised lamb shank and he thought it was tasty but really rich. He barely finished it by himself so this could be a good thing to share at dinner.

My favorite part of the meal: dessert! We shared the profiteroles and the warm valrhona chocolate cake. The cake was my favorite, but the profiteroles were a confusing texture to me. The hard shell and cold gelato did not work together in my opinion, but the gelato on its own was very good.

I enjoyed dining at Topolino’s, but the portions were small and pricier than I expected. A bottle of wine, two appetizers, four entrees, and two desserts came close to $300.

Overall I had a wonderful experience at Topolino’s Terrace and would return for drinks and dessert.

Thanks for reading my review of Topolino’s Terrace! I hope you get a chance to visit Riviera Resort and ride the Skyliner next time you go to Walt Disney World.
